Description: In 2003, six proofs were made by Shōichi Ida and Robert Kushner. Mare Blocker, a visiting instructor and artist, taught Book Arts at Whitman College, and with students, worked on the proofs. Ruth Lingen came for the following academic year, and she completed the six proofs. Ida, Kushner, Blocker, and Yasu Shibata each received a copy and Whitman College received two copies for Penrose Library.

The Book Art Press at Whitman College discontinued in 2006 at the retirement of Keiko Hara. Over the next 20 years, Keiko Hara independently completed the edition of 12. Many individuals and professionals helped with the project. Keiko Hara founded the Mokuhanga Project Space (MPS) in 2016. Sales of this book go directly to help fund MPS programming.
